My buddy/coworker, Daniel (read his awesome blog here) introduced me to something pretty great today. Apparently here at Harper the culinary students put on a little mock restaurant that anyone can go to on certain days of the week, and for eight bucks you can get an appetizer, main course with a side, and dessert. I didn’t want to be the guy taking pictures of his food at the table (even though I’m totally that guy) so I snapped this pic of the demo tray out front.
I had the butternut squash soup with caramelized apples and savory crouton, the grilled quarter chicken with garlic and ginger, side of shredded zucchini and sauteed shallot as well as the white beans with chives, and then the banana something cake with chocolate buttercream icing.
If you need to find me Tuesday or Thursday between 11:30 and 12:30, I will be here, gorging like a hippopotamus with a table full of marbles.
In other work news, it is now 4:45, I have an evening class that starts at 6, and snow is supposed to start falling somewhere between 6 and 7. I asked around if I had the power to cancel classes, and I was told that I in fact am not God, so I cannot do that. I did however email all my students and told them they could make up tonight’s quiz next week if they wanted to stay home and safe. So we’ll see if I’m by myself at 6.
Quit distracting me blog! I have work to do!
